I hate hate my exhaust loudness. I have the stainless 2-1 BC Broncos system. The hardest part is they used 2.5" primaries that combine to a 3" out muffler system. Which is super rare in the muffler world. So my plan is to combine the 2 primaries with a Y then do a 3" in and out muffler. I picked a flowmaster, I have always liked how they sound on a 5.0 motor. It's rated at mild, so hopefully it's fun sounding but not loud.

That sounds like a great idea. The Magnaflow 10778 Y-pipe looks like it would work and it’s SS. I’m going to keep this in mind when it’s time to do mine.

Now I am thinking spintech! I like the sound clips. 304 polished stainless steel etc.. I can get a custom made one that uses the same fittings/ system as my magnaflow. So no need for a Y

Exhaust update. I was going to try and Y my dual 2.5" into a 3". The adapter I bought was wrong. So I decided to try and fabricate my own muffler out of my old muffler and my new 50 series stainless flowmaster. Flowmaster wouldn't build me a custom muffler, but a tech told me my idea should work fine. I went with 50 series, hopefully not very loud but still have that flowmaster sound. It's also 3.5" longer, so that should help with sound. But really I want a better tone.

I was going to go spintech, but the sales person was kind of a jerk over the phone. So I decided to give this a try first.

So magnaflow SS muffler that came with my 2-1 BC exhaust kit and a Flo-853057.

Next is finish welding and stripping the paint off. If I like the sound I will do V band clamps and ceramic coating.

Test fit, so far so good, only issue is my exhaust exit hangs a little lower then I would prefer, so I will have to fix that someday.

Well verdict is it's still too loud. I like the tone more though. I bought the largest stainless they make. I think the issue is the 2-1 or the monster 2.5" and 3" out. Most mufflers might be meant for a 2 muffler system? Or I am getting old? If this doesn't work I found a Borla muffler I like. Or I could stack 2 mufflers? Then Y them together after? Hopefully this works.

I will be welding on both end of it of it this time. Flowmaster 853072.

Hey Duffy,
What if you add a resonator after the muffler? My Wifes Yukon Denali was set up like this and it worked really well. Its small and seems like it wouldn't restrict the power but dampen the sound.

Solid idea. I am looking into that now.

So my cheap frame mounted fuel pump is driving me nuts. It's so loud. Only issues is the new pump I picked out has odd fittings.

Summit fuel pump: SUM-250111 (Gets awesome reviews)

Dewhel Fuel pump billet bracket: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VRKQQS2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

AN8 to Male AN6 Flare Reducer: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NCLEW2O/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

O-Ring Boss/ORB to AN Flair Fitting Adapter - 10AN ORB to 6AN: Bought through 385freaks.com

Fuelab In-Line Fuel Filter - 10 micron paper / 6AN: Bought through americanmuscle.com It's a paper cartridge filter that can be replaced. The picture is backwards, but should be a nice setup.

I wanted black interior door handles, but the ones you can buy are plastic junk. So I had Ryan Williams from http://www.lubr4x4.com/ make me some out of new metal ones. I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out. I don’t know how he powder coats over chrome. But it works.

Looks great thanks for sharing. Its the little things right?

Hard top/ lift gate gaps are still getting adjusted. Almost done. I went with stainless hinges that won't be painted. I don't want the paint to chip with use.

Also got a 304 stainless super quiet resonator. It claims 20-30db drop in volume. Fingers crossed it works! Most of the reviews were great. Straight through design so it shouldn't hinder performance at all. I hope I am done with exhaust for a while.

I got the exhaust installed. It's old man style for sure. I'm not 100% happy with it, but it will do for now.

So 200 test miles in. Transmission is shifting better, still goes into 3rd at crazy low rpms. Which I need to figure out. Engine hates it. Also my tire carrier bumper flexes too much. So I need to stiffen it. Enjoying driving it! Super fun.
