Roller cam shouldn't need zinc.
A lot of zinc could hurt a cat if you're injected and running them.

I'm jealous though....roller cam....mmmm...one of my next projects...

No cat for me, although I have considered one to clean up the exhaust smell.

I'll probably get thru this break-in oil and then go to more traditional oil with some zinc still in it.

Oh, I don't plan on dropping it completely! Maybe just add the BG MOA with each change.

A lot of reading and educating here:

Independent Engineer's Oil Test

I run VR1 10W30. I see it ranked well. However, I wouldn't rule out some of the higher ranked oils.

5. 5W30 Valvoline Full Synthetic High Mileage with MaxLife Technology, API SN, GM dexos 1 approved (silver bottle) = 123,470 psi

36. 10W30 Valvoline VR1 Conventional Racing Oil (silver bottle) = 103,505 psi
zinc = 1472 ppm
phosphorus = 1544 ppm
moly = 3 ppm
calcium = 2,707 ppm
TBN = 7.6

I run cheap Walmart conventional oil with a zinc additive and change it yearly.
I wouldn't over think it, this ain't rocket surgery.:)
