Ok, so I usually break stuff, so I thought I would ask the question....I have removed the lower portion of the transmission selector rod from the side of my c4 transmission....how to u remove the top portion? Looks like it is pressed in?

It's lightly pressed into a plastic bushing. The plastic will usually break if you try to remove it but new ones are available.

Lightly pressed? Mine was really tight... I put some eat on it and it came out much easier. Replaced it with a new one ...

it is a pain to remove but finally got mine removed today with a C-clamp to push the back of the rod through the hole.

Just wait until you have to reinstall it.....If you replace the plastic bushing it is a pain in the butt. I finally heated the rod up and it slid right in. Kinda sounds like a porno  ....just like Sanndmann

Had to replace one last weekend. Used some soapy water and a visegrip that had been modified for another purpose, but worked fine for this.

It's not in yet. You need to press the bushing in the arm first, then push the rod in the bushing.
