My old rear driveshaft is fairly worn at the splines. The double cardon joint is in good shape, as are the u-joints. Is there any value in this other than as a trail spare?

If I understand you. all is good other the spline shaft .
In my town you could take it to the drive shaft shop & Wes would cut the shaft off & drill it out & put a new spline in it & weld & balance yours .
Done about 150.00 maybe more

Trail spare.
I don't care how good used U-joints are, they don't have value. They are just 1310 joints. Yea, you can put a value on it. But that doesn't mean you will find a buyer for it.

I was curious also, I have a really nice Borg-Warner rear shaft with just a TINY bit of play in it
