Hi, I’m a poor person who has had a 1969 Bronco for long enough to see the hobby go from something you tear up in the woods (which I did) to a financial investment opportunity. So…in order to do my part to help filter the wealth on up to the 1%, I’m considering parting with my truck. I think I just may be out of my depth pocket book-ly speaking on the paint and body. It is mechanically finished (as per my specs anyway) but has all the usual rust spots and plenty of dents and ripples. I’m thinking of just saying to hell with it and tearing into it myself (even though I don’t have any body experience). But, I’m also considering the unthinkable at this point. My problem is that I’m seeing trucks that need the same amount body work as mine that have barely running stock 170, 3spd, Dana 30 set ups going for hefty, hefty sums, so I’m not sure what this thing is worth at this point. I guess this is an incredibly long way to ask, what do you think it is worth as is? or, do you think I should stick it to the man and finish this thing all by my lonesome? I've seen people come from a lot farther out of the grave than this, but I have to assume they are much smarter than I. What would you do? The following is a list of details:

Engine
• Original 302 block
• Bored 0.60 over
• World performance heads (iron)
• Crane Cam
• Edlerock 4 barrel carb (manual choke)
• Holley performance fuel pump
• Hedman Elite headers
• MSD Ignition module, distributor, coil
• 4 core radiator
• Tom’s 23 gallon fuel tank and sending unit
• New starter
• Built by Richmond Performance (all receipts on hand)
Drivetrain
• ’67 Mustang top loader 4 speed transmission (wide ratio)
• Hurst floor shifter
• Original T-handle Dana 20 Transfer case (’77 Dana 20 J-shift spare)
• ’77 Dana 44 front axle (disk front brakes)
• Upgraded chromoly axle shafts with oversized u-joints
• ’77 big bearing 9” rear axle (11” rear drums)
• Yukon 4.11 ring and pinions
• Trac loc rear, open front diffs
• ’77 power brake booster and bracket
• ’77 power steering pump and gear
• Wild Horses Y to T steering linkage
Suspension
• Wild Horses Premium 2.5” system with Bilstein 5100
• Wild Horses Basic 3.5” system with WH shocks (uninstalled)
• Wheel Vintiques 15x7 Series 62 steel wheels
• New 31x10.50 BFG KM2 MT tires (with spare)
• Wheel Vintiques 15x10 Series 62 steel wheels (unmounted)
Interior
• New reproduction 16” steering wheel with OEM horn ring
• Smooth shift collar
• Front bench seat (new foam and Bronco Hut upholstery)
• 2 sets of buckets (one pair, good shape with driver’s side bottom rips / one pair, poor shape)
• OEM rear seat in poor shape
• New lap belts
• OEM dash pad in flawless shape
• ’69 dash in good shape with a couple of small non-original holes
• ’77 dash in fair shape with a large ugly radio hole
• OEM AM radio in working condition (uninstalled)
• ’77 metal door panels
• Boat wipers with Cherokee Wipers (installed
• ’77 electric wipers with linkage and cover
• Early ’69 vacuum wipers with original arms and blades
• OEM sun visors in good shape
Body
• See pics, $2,500 worth of parts and a whole lot of time or 17,000 worth of professional work or replacement. There are many ways to skin this cat so I’ll leave it at that.
• Would need paint after that, of course.
• Extra Hood
• Have all sport body trim except tailgate beltline trim
• Hard top
• OEM painted bumpers
• Frame in great shape (the drop bracket is only mod)

Tell me your location and I'll come take that pig off your hands, no charge ;).

But really, why not just get in that rig and drive the heck out of it? Get yourself a wire feed welder, or a buddy, figure it out and fix that body one weekend project at a time?

As far as value, it's really hard to judge. If you're planning to let it go with all the upgrades and the uninstalled parts on hand, I imagine you could get something well north of 10k. Well north.

Yeah I'm just on the fence. I thought there was no turning back since my unfinished truck was only worth 4,000-5,000 but I'm kind of seeing that that may not be the case nowadays. And I'm not sure I've got the scratch to have it done either.

I agree, I'd fix up those couple spots and maybe paint the driver door to match and just drive it as is, sounds like a lot of work has gone into it. I like that color too, is it an original color?

Hello,
I don't have a lot of money to spend on my 69. As money allows I am fxing it up. I would just get it running and drive it. If you need to get ride of it I understand but you might regret selling it in the end. Good luck

I told a friend to paint it a medium dark brown the this is what I ended up with. Might be a chevy color even. I just keep seeing shiny highboys driving by on 35's for a quarter the money. Apples and oranges though I guess.

I would get a gallon of the same paint and primer and paint the door. Then I would buy new rockers and front and rear door posts and replace them. You can do this without tearing the whole truck down. Keep the projects small in scope and repaint stuff as you go. By the end of summer the truck will be looking allot better and wont be a potential turn off for most buyers. You probably will have a change of heart on selling it too. Those repairs will pay for themselves if you do decide to sell it. Just don't get carried away.

I'd say about $10K as well. I agree with the others that you've done a lot to it already and chip away at the few steel parts that absolutely need replacing and drive it. The value is only going to appreciate, while the majority of other vehicles on the road depreciate.
