Tyler,

Nice looking truck you have there for sure and the notes on the pics is definitely COOL!

Can't wait to see your buildup take shape. ;D

By the way, it took me 11 years to really get goin on the project and this site had alot to do with it. I know it isn't 22 but seemed like it would never get anywhere if you know what I mean. Glad that you stuck with it and are finally getting going on your project!

Thanks man, My Bronco was nice for a lot of those 22 years. These Kentucky winters took their toll on the poor thing. So it is time to strip it all the way down and do it right. I am trying to rust proof as good as possible and replacing ALL hardware with stainless as well. Hopefully I won't have to go to this level again in my lifetime. I appreciate everybody encouraging me to press on. I hope to get some updates this weekend with more pics. :)

That's really not too bad. Get that thing stripped down to nothing and have it media blasted.....and you'll have a much better idea about those rust areas.

Looks like you are running the Mallory Unilite. How do you like it? I have acquired the same set up for my 66 that I am working on.

I am running the Unilite. I love it. I have had it on there since 1996! I have only replaced the little module once and keep a spare in the glovebox. It has always idled great and been trouble free. Just waterproof it if you are fording any rivers. :)

thanks LSUPETE. I hope mine turns out half as nice as yours. I will be stripping it down and media blasting for sure. Also PC the frame and a few other pieces. As my signature says to the left, I have developed a MAJOR case of the "while I am at it's. As in, while I am at it, I might as well do this, and that.. :)

Thanks. I should say thank you to my awesome wife who got me an iPad. There is a cool free app that you can draw and type on pictures. Made it easy to jot down quick notes. Especially on tear down. I am documenting everything so I can put it all back together right. Hopefully. Lol. %)

Hey triple T, I took pics, labeled parts and baggies and I finally bought me a virgin 74' for a pattern!!!! Parked in in one stall and had the rebuild next to it!!!! Worked great!!!! Looking good!!! Keep us posted!!!;D;D;D

SLOWWWW Progress..

Ok, did a little more deconstructing last night.. here are a few LOW quality pics..

I am kind of disappointed that I found more of the ugly "R" word damage than I thought. That is typical I know, but looks like more cutting and patching in my near future.. :( I will have to look at some of your builds that had worse to start with for inspiration.

Oh, yea your on your way... And, lucky, you had a solid truck to begin with. Mine had been hit in the front end twice (once on each side). The repairs where shoddy, they patched the radiator together, the radiator support had been welded together and not very well. Had a inside front fender support slathered in roofing tar with a piece of flashing bent and screwed into the mangled area for the "fix". NOT to mention the rust rust and more rust. Bondo work all over the truck.

Man, now I don't want to fix my truck at all... Glad I'm past that stage or I would scrap it now.

>bangs head on desk<

It just needs a lil paint job... (famous last words)

Your Truck has rust in the exact same places as mine... I know they all do but the serverity is the same. I felt like you when I removed my front clip. We have it good compare too some people good luck with the project....

Great start to an interesting build thread - following for sure! Takes a lot to tear something apart and then put it back together. Time, tools, workspace, money, advice and then more time, tools, money, advice:) But I sense your passion for the truck runs deep and it's just in you to do. You'll do a great job!

To be honest I am contemplating having someone finish for me.. I love working on it but have no time and would be farming out the body work and paint anyway. I travel a lot and have two young boys. I am heading to North Dakota all next week then in a couple weeks going to Africa for 10 days. So sorry for slow build updates. I am going to plug along when I can and then figure out what to do the end of February. I appreciate everyone's help and encouragement. I have waited 22 years (and counting) to have my Bronco "done right". Hopefully 2012 will be the year. :)

slow Progress. is still progress... I guess..

I finally got the dash completely out and stripped down. now I have to start planning what to do with it. Going to move the glovebox door for sure. May rearrange some of the switches around and thinking of some custom touches.. Stay tuned.. Sorry I have been slow to update.

Check out the virgin original paint behind the heater box. I removed the old insulation. this metal looks good, has not seen the light of day since 1972 I suppose.
