Wish I could say that, I'm stuck in bodywork mode, it's tuff making a show queen out of a rust bucket. Glad you got something accomplished Rob.

I was able to get more done last week. The steering and SS windshield are all done. I was also able to get the Winter's Shifter linkage attached to the transmission. The 4 turn steering box had so much grease and grime that when I got the grime off the box itself was clean and free of rust. The extra grime also made it easy to take the stock pitman arm off after 35 yrs. I sprayed the pitman arm the night before with WD40 and then after two whacks it popped right off. After degreasing and painting the steering box looks new. Now it's time to save up for the third member and driveshaft.

Keep at it. What parts do you need?

At this point I need to get the third member and driveshaft. I have everything else, just need to install. My hope is to test drive it this spring and start prepping it for paint over the summer.

Looks great

Thanks Jason,
How's your build going? Had the bronco out today to start it up but I got a little off track lately. A friend of mine needed to get rid of a practical brand new quad so the $ I was saving for the bronco went into that. Now it's back to saving up for a few things. I'm still hoping to take the bronco for her first ride by the summer. Keeping my fingers crossed.

For you ATV guys, its a TRX700XX.....

I need to go get a few things from delconick and then I am going to buy the third member. If everything works out I'll be taking her for her first drive since 1998 this summer... fingers crossed.

Actually, I need the motivation. I promise something in the next couple weeks. That's what I tell the wife anyway. :D

Can't believe that it is 3 months since I last posted.... Life has been busy! Anyway, I got my third member about 2 months ago and finally installed it with the rear disk brakes. I went with a Strange third member 4.86 gears and Detroit soft locker.
Out with the old and in with the new. :)

Got a few more parts. WH 5.5 coils and springs with extreme u-bolts and parts for headlights and brakes. Had a little trouble getting coils and leaf springs on. First, a bolt broke off on top of the radius arm. After tapping and cleaning the threads all was good. New coils are nice and soft compared to the 13 year old 6in. coils from skyjacker. Second was the leaf springs. I was having trouble "seating" the front of the spring to the spring perch. I noticed that when I lifted the axle the rear shackles were moving and not allowing the front of the spring to move into the perch so I c-clamped the shackle down(in pic) and solved the problem. Overall the lift actually gave me an added inch of lift. Next is to finish brakes, exhaust, and driveshaft. Then take it for its first drive in over 10 years.

Back at it, I've been to Delconick's and picked up a few fiberglass pieces and just got a roll cage from Spareparts. Hope to get some new pics within the next few weeks. Been busy working after the hurricane.
