What’s this thing on the license plate bracket for, with the 2 screws?

So I’m guessing the License Plate Spring Retainer at the bottom of that page would mount to the tailgate here?

Thanks half cab exactly what I wanted to see, you think I should just get a new stainless steel one? Is this one toast? I’m guessing the spring is not required...

Hi, the folding plate deal is so you can show your license plate, folded down, if you drive with the tail gate open. This is not possible if you have an outside swing away tire carrier. Good luck

If by swing away tire carrier you mean stock Bronco, you can if you have a Ranch Hand bracket.

nope it's so you can lift up the plate and set your beer on;)
