Yes and no, unfortunately niche apps like the bronco market are probably too small to make decent money selling an app outright. I could be wrong but software generally takes a sizable market to make money off of straight sales. With that said one area niche markets tend to be lucrative at is in app purchases. Say for example if the app was tied into vendors systems, you could set up a truck how you want it and have it produce a build sheet then order some or all of the parts in app from the vendors via the app and take a percentage. This is typically how people building apps for niche markets monetize the application.

Get the Apple done and then Android! I vote Android, but lots of folks use Apple for its simplicity and marketing. Due to limited audience, I would consider multiple vehicles and a higher price point for the app. It's a one time purchase. A great / useful app is worth more money. Offer a Lite version to test drive and then paid for $10-$15 bucks.

I want to thank everyone for the great feedback. I'm super excited to get this done, and hopefully will have it available in the next month, possibly two. I could release it now, but hate to send it out half-completed. At some point though, I just need to call this version done. So I guess it's about making a list of what MUST be in version 1 and what can wait for version 2, etc.

This isn't going to be a money maker, my apps never are (unfortunately). Like Lowbush says very niche market. I'm making it because it's fun to play with 3D and my bronco is the perfect muse. It may be a free app with the ability to purchase a sticker/decal pack, and an off-road pack, maybe a vendor pack (vendor specific product line), and something fun for the kids. Or possibly it'll be $.99 like xcntrk mentioned, except I don't expect to make millions. I have a really hard time charging anything because this forum (you guys) have always been so supportive. This is just a way for me to give back.

That is first class, Jane. Great job. Beautiful work. I can't wait to test drive. Please consider $.99 price. Please don't waster your hard work on a free app. You deserve something in regards to payment. You never know how much it might add up!

Wow, really impressive! I would buy this in a heartbeat, and for well more than $.99 too. But especially if it were Android, and even more especially, like someone mentioned, if it were widows or web-based (great to see this in full size, as with your Youtube videos). For now, I'll just have to use my wife's iPad. Keep us posted, and great work!
