I have been working on my rear bumper. It's a Hanson, but I didn't order it with a tire carrier and decided after that I wanted one. Protofab has a good deal on theirs to add onto their bumpers. I took a stab in the dark. The bumpers seemed close enough that it would work. It took some doing, but it's done. I am very happy. I had a buddy cut and re-weld the angle to match the bumper and also work on the hinge system. a few cuts and some machine work and it worked out great. Now it's time for some built in LEDs and then off to the powder coater.

Anyone know what LEDs Icon uses in their bumpers? I don't have a ton of room about 2.75" tall on the vertical part. I want them flush.

I think Icon uses the Rigid Industries SR-Q2. I think he cut holes in the bumper and mount them.

Here are my three options for my rear bumper. I am trying to decide how each would look.

SR-Q2 - 3096 lumens each- Cut a precise hole. This maybe a difficult cut, also weld a mount. $379 Pair

SR-Q2 flush mount- 3096 lumens each. Still cut a hole, but not as critical. $399 Pair

TOTRON 6" Flush mount- 1600 lumens each. Still cut a hole, but not as critical. $79 Pair-

Thoughts? The Totrons are a much better deal and get good reviews. At 1600 lumens, they are like car head lights on bright. I am stuck on the lines of the light. I wish they were more rectangle. Which would look the best.

I would think that first one is overkill for backup lights. Check these out

I wish I knew if the Totron was flood or spot. From the video they look like flood. Thoughts?

Do you think they will look goofy? I get way too obsessed with details and worry about lines and such a lot.

I would go for a flush mounted backup light so the SR-Q2 Flush Mount and the Totron's would be my choice out of your options given. I personally like the looks of the more "squared off" SR-Q2, but I don't think you need that much light out back. The Totron's look like a flood to me and the price would be hard to pass up.

The video does show the light bar. Which is a 2 row 6". So about the same light output as 2- 6".

The grafting of the rear panels to become a lubr again didn't look good enough, I decided to remove the whole panel and start over. I would say to anyone that is trying this, please just replace the panel, removing it is easy. Spot welding a new one back in is easy as well. Much easier then most people think. I would say it's actually easier then doing floor panels.

I now have to graft my 77 fuel doors into the panel, which I am taking to a body shop to do. The kid doing my work is good, but I want these perfect, and one shop specializes in this type of thing.

I got some etched 19mm push button switches made with OD cancel A/B mode for my 4r70w. I plan to have a fuel economy shift mode and then a hard shifting mode. This will go in Tunnel Cover Cubby blank from wild horses. I also got 2 fog light switches made for my front and rear LED bars that are recessed into the bumpers.

Here is where I got them.

Working on the rear bumper, I wanted the rear lights to be recessed (totrons) into the bumper so I needed to move the d- ring clamp attachments. I picked to the underside to stay nice and clean. I just need to weld in the studs, grind the welds flat to hide them and its ready for powder coat! I'm pretty excited on how it turned out, my buddy Andrew sure can weld.

I got 19mm. I think if I was to do it over I would get the next size up. 19mm is pretty small.

Bumper is done, the totrons fit awesome. I am very happy with the way it came out. Now off to powder coating.
