As the title states i think the ecoboost 3.5l would be a good swap in a bronco. The only issue i think is the width. but i think it would be a fast engine for the bronco,. What do you think?

I just saw this motor sitting in a Bronco frame, and was told that no body mods are needed. Supposedly, it's a great fit. With about 375 hp and 420 ft lbs of torque (+-), I'd be all over it if I were looking for a motor swap. I've got one in my F150, and it is a beast. It was about to head to SEMA. I think it's an awesome option!!

Tape measure to an engine on display at SEMA a few years back. Turbos are in the middle of the stock Bronco frame rails. I can see the engine clearing the body (hood clearance is probably a different story). The design of the Ecoboost is the turbos are as close as possible to the heads to get them spooled up quick. Relocating the turbos will add a bunch of turbo lag.

Not much room up front for the big intercooler. Then radiator and you'd want Ac condensor for sure
Just not much real estate to work with

I know Jason from BC has one sitting in a bare frame. Don't recall if the turbid where on it or not

After running my 408W this summer, I would not look anywhere else. 2" body lift and the 3" tall air cleaner still just clears. Swap was basically painless. If my early block wasn't enough at 415 hp/450 ft lbs, a roller block has an additional 100 hp at redline. And if that's not enough, you could go with an aftermarket block for more cubes. And even then, it is a pretty economical swap in the long run as compared to an Ecoboost or Coyote. My engine has so much torque it's hard to not drive it like a 16 year old... ;)

That's the one I was looking at in Yuma last week. Chuck had it down there and Jason was going to pick it up and take it to SEMA.

If people want turbos what about an original straight six with dual turbos:)

And get the power of a stock V8. Since you will always be in the boost, the economy of a big block. With iron head and the stock compression ratio, burning race gas.

I know this thread is about an Ecoboost but IMO a 351 based motor is made for this body/chassis. It fits like a glove. Aftermarket block with taller heads for more cubes may require something but stock block fit with cutting one firewall bolt off. And I'm running the Edelbrock Performer RPM intake and WH extreme duty motor mounts.

Adapting a power steering pump to it is easier said than done. Is there one that exists with a power steering pump or you gonna put the electric steering on the bronco too.

May I borrow that for a weekend? I'll leave you the old stocker two barrel.
