We did find it in a real barn, but it had not been there "undiscovered" for years!

1969 U14. This Bronco was bought by my brother-in-law (now ex) who got it from the 2nd owner who had it since about 1970 or 71. It was a working truck on a working ranch in southern Colorado. The owners son started to restore it for his father and got it about 90% completed. He had a falling out with the father and lost interest in the Bronco. So it sat for a while in the barn until the son decided to sell it.

I bought it from my sister-in-law who got it in the divorce. Sounds like she took it from him but that's not the case. He MADE her buy him out of it because he wanted to change his life style! Anyway first pics are how we found it and the last pic is how it looks today.

green half cab I found on the local classifieds, had been in that garage untouched for about 12 years when i found it and bought it.

2nd one is still sitting in a barn in Southern NH unsure if he wants to sell it or not.

Great thread Andy!

I found these two locally. The blue one was $1500 with a title. The red one was $800 without a title. I offered a trade for the blue one but could not work a deal.

mass plates? where was that?
It was actually in Maine. Owner split time between Mass and Maine but truck was originally registered in Mass. After doing some research found out it was a south Carolina truck until about 7 years ago then passed through build a Bronco then this guy in Maine. Was used as hunting truck... came complete with drivetrain full to breathers with water...radiator pissing, valvecovers gaskets??? What are those,, backfiring due to bad points and distrib., no grounds for lights cause why do they need to work..no seatbelts, fouled plugs cause ran with choke closed due to vacuum leak... No shift bushings..no radius arm bushing or track bar busshing, and he threw in a full tank of gas diluted with water for no extra charge!! There is more but it's a 2.5 year blur now...

This is worse than a barn find!
I know for a fact there is a nice 77 Bronco in a barn within 15 miles of me and don't know where this barn is. There are only about 3000 barns within 15 miles of me. It's driving me nuts. Every barn I pass, I wonder if thats the one.
The guy came up to me at a car show and was looking at mine and told me he had a nice 77 he bought for his wife. She really didn't like to drive it so they parked in the barn about 15 years ago. I didn't want ot act to excited so I was just generally holding conversation with him and he said he didn't really want to sell it. Iwanted to get his name and address to go look at it and possibly worry him into selling it. I looked around and he was gone. Been kicking myself ever since. I look for him all summer at every car show.
Maybe some day I will locate it.

I found this '76 Sport in a barn in 2010. I didn't get photos of it before I moved it (regretfully), but you could hardly see the Bronco for the stuff piled around it. I couldn't really see the wheels and tires, and I climbed on the junk and got down on my knees just to reach the hood latch so I could see if it had an engine or not. I also had to cut a half dozen pine trees 8-10" diameter just to get it out. I probably spent 2-3 hours moving it out so I could load it on the trailer! It had chicken poop on the top and hood too! It's still around here and known as Coup because of this!

Hey Capt.! Yes, ole Coup seems to have a colorful past. The last owner was a girl that wheeled it, bogged it, and part time daily driver. She had some kind of illness and passed away in either '88 or '89 and the Bronco sat in the barn until 2010. We have it running, but because of it's past abuse, the built '69 351 has broken both front axles and the rear u-joint is about to come out. It is really not road worthy at the moment, but it will go under it's own power, drinking out of a jug!

Well, after a year, I finally put all the pieces together and found the barn and the guy that had it. It's been sitting in a barn for at least 16 years!

GUESS WHAT?
