Anyway got the cage home, powder coat looks amazing...already hit my head on the bar while strapping it in, so I think I'll leave the padding in place for a bit %)

Going to put the top back on before I bolt in the cage to make sure top will fit later!

Take lots of pictures of clearances and attachment points.
No offense to KE, but they don't have a ton of them on their site and planning installations with/on the roll cage is a lot easier the more angles I have.

Thinking of doing another roof speaker box/dome light setup. Would need to figure out if it'd work better in the corners or maybe have them add another bar in front of the drivers head/behind the stock wiper cover and go down the middle like my previous one seen below. [yes that one was sealed on top and the speakers were marine for the times the top was off]

I'm kicking myself for not taking pics of their bar installed while i was there, but I've asked Thomas to send me a few.

Let me know if you need any pics or dimensions etc 907-351-4543

Roll bar installed, washed under the hood (mostly because radiator took a dump and sprayed all over engine bay) and as much of exterior as possible since I got no windows beyond the cowl...fought electrical gremlins for yet another day and lost, but won just enough to go for a cruise legally (I had brake lights) cleaned out all the tools and junk that has accumulated since carpet install and vacuumed...oh yeah one more thing I went to Staples and got my original wiring diagrams, gifted to me by Mary, laminated. Thanks again Mary ( :

Shouldn't top be "off" for the summer my friend..? :D

Well since the top shares two of its front bolts with the cage, I thought it was important to have the top on during install ;)

besides, there's no glass so it's basically a metal bikini top ;D and i like the look better with the top on anyway

Did some electrical troubleshooting for turn signals, traced power to t/s switch and found no power going to G-W or W-B wires when switch is activated, gave up, put wheel back on and went for quick cruise, realized I didn’t tighten the 15/16 nut (not the first time??) came home and tightened it up, about to leave again and saw a puddle of coolant...SHIT

Coolant is bubbling around water pump gasket and thermostat gasket, my infrared thermometer is measuring the block at about 220, and upon closer inspection my intake manifold is cracked at the water neck...SOB!!!!!!!

Guess it’s a good thing I didn’t tighten the steering wheel it could’ve been worse

Jeff, Man that sucks. Seems like everytime you fix something then another thing pops up. I have a two barrel stock intake from a 72 if you want it. Ken

appreciate that Ken, I've got a 2-barrel intake and carb sitting on a shelf as well. it was actually leaking from behind the timing cover so I ordered new gaskets for that and a hi flow water pump while i'm in there.

tried to take advantage of Advance Auto 20% off for new intake but when I applied the code the intake was excluded

Got her torn down, it was leaking coolant behind the timing cover as well so that came off too, then realized the oil pan gasket has to be done with timing cover so off it comes! Looks like the engine has been gone through, new timing chain, oil pump, cylinder walls look good so I’m happy about that. Will have gaskets tomorrow so will be back at it.

Well now you can fix the short dip stick with the pan being out. The truck has been keeping you busy lately. Good luck with it and hope it seals up for you. Ken

you are much more ambitious than I am Ken, besides I'd rather just pay you to do it for me ;D

took the day off work today and put in a full 9 hours on the Bronco, she is now pretty much buttoned up, including the aforementioned PITA oil pan; if the oil pan has 20 screws then I ended up with 19 %) and it was all I had left to do :mad: once again the old junk 200 engine in the corner (the one my wife keeps telling me to scrap) saved the day with an oil pan bolt ;D

with any luck i'll be driving it tomorrow with no leaks ;) hope everyone has a nice holiday weekend!

Jeff

Well it DID leak...oil from back of intake manifold, reinstalled with fatter bead of ATV and all is good now

New intake, timing cover gasket, water pump, radiator, hoses, JBG super fan shroud (trimmed a bit for BL) rear view mirror from '74 Supercab *NOTE* permatex mirror kit did not survive one bump in the road, gorilla glue-no problem ;)

Also got all the seats covered and installed (mostly) first thing the wife says is "should've gone black" %) she picked the color :-X so now wants door panels and dash to match...maybe later, much, much later

still need to find some floor mats and install front belts, oh and still no turn signals but I got arms ;D

BONUS a few pics of neighbor's 57 Caddy cuz it's so dang beautiful, so mint I would not even get in it without one of those disposable paint suits. thanks for reading -jeff

That's where mine was leaking when I bought it. I was pretty liberal with the RTV back there when I reinstalled it last week, and I still keep looking back there waiting for it to leak because it seems like I have to everything twice before I get it right. Looking good keep it up!
