I didn't like the how close the down pipe was to the floorboard so I made a new one this weekend.

Also a pic of the throttle linkage.

I would love to build a 4bt bronc. One of these days. Where did you get the engine from on eBay

Can't remember the sellers name. It wasn't one of the popular sellers that you regularly see on ebay.

... Is your running yet .. If so Did you start or hear yours run .. With just the Muffler and then with the Pipe coming out the rear of your Bronco..
... Was yours any quieter Just out the back of the Bronco than just off the Muffler under the Bronco.. I'm still dumped under the Bronco 1/2 cab. And mine is a lot louder than I'd like. .. And My Muffler guy swore that was a quite muffler He was giving me.

I haven't had it running with the new exhaust yet. I had it on a test stand with just a turbo muffler hanging off the down pipe and it wasn't too bad. Getting anxious thought to get it on the road.

Got some paint laid down on the bronco this week. I should be done and all put together by Sunday. Here are some pics on how the paint turned out on the body. The doors, hood, window frame, and tailgate are still in the paint booth.

I was never away from the project, I am just bad about taking pictures. I have been busy with finishing the dash. The dash is now all wired up with a new Painless harness and it is ready to go in when I get my radio back. The brakes, power steering, clutch, throttle are all done. I am hoping to have it on the road around the first of August.

This thing is looking awesome.
I'm getting ready to drop the motor in mine. I'm not quite sure where to land it vertically.

If you don't mind, could you tell me the dimension you ended up with from the top of the frame rail to the top of the front valve cover?

Also, it looks like you're using the highlander hood. How much clearance do you have between the top of the valve cover and the bottom of the hood?

Did you offset the centerline of the motor towards the passenger side?

Thanks in advance! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I will have to take some measurements for you in the next couple of days.
I can't remember how much clearance I had with the valve covers because of where I was hitting was the intercooler piping in the hood support. I probably could have made the stock hood clear (with the 2" body lift)if I would have been a little more creative with the tubing. You don't want to go too low because of the oil pan unless you totally shift the bottom of the pan over away from the diff.
I did offset the motor from the center line to match the stock offset. I will get that measurement for you also.

Now that I am done with the engine compartment I will try to get some pics up in the next few days. I can show off my engine bling.

Ask any questions you can think of.

Doug

Thank you! I'll look forward to those dims. I'm going with an NV4500. I bought the Wildhorses crossmember. I figured I'll bolt it up, and burn in the motor mounts where they lay once I figure the vertical placement.

Looking forward to those engine pics!!!
