Paul, thanks. What 31" tires are you running? Make and code? I'm looking for something with some tread, put less hum on the road. Also looking for blackwalls on both sides, I'm installing 2" portawalls for a classic look.
Jim, I will take those measurements when I'm back on the east coast later this winter. If I'm running stock springs in the front, do you have taller springs to even the stance?
This winter I had a shop here in Sarasota install new springs, shocks and 31" tires. Now the front end is slightly higher than the rear. They said that the front would eventually settle to be even, but it hasn't yet. (I'm running the stock 6-cylinder.) I need about a 1" raise in the rear. Can I do this with a body lift only to the rear? Appreciate any advice, trying to get this Bronco sitting right.
Body lift lifts the whole body. Not going to do anything for you.
The six is lighter than the eight. That's shy the recommendation probably resulted in more front lift. Add in years of aging for the rear.
Simplest is probably just a 1" block in the rear. Be sure to get a steel block, no aluminum. Aluminum blocks and broncos are not known to be happy with each other, doesn't take long and the block gets spit out. The spring perch is a little too small and the end result is the aluminum squeezes out over time. All the factory blocks are always iron or steel.
All, thanks for the expert advice. Just measured and the rear is exactly 1" lower than the front end. Ordered Tom's Bronco kit and will have it by Friday. Looking forward to correcting the stance once and for all.
