Got her back from media blasting. All in all everything went good. Found a bit more rust in the drivers rocker ..... so it will come off and get replaced. The walnut shells didn't get the old seam sealer out so I dug it out, wire brushed it and treated it with Rust Mort. Need to get the epoxy primer on her so put up my hillbilly paint booth and hope to squirt her tomorrow.

Houston .... we've got primer! Got everything cleaned and treated then shot her with epoxy primer. Glad that is over, now back to finishing my panel replacement so I can begin bodywork. I'm getting excited to get paint on this thing!

Hey Matt! Not a darn thing. Work has been crazy busy. I am planning on starting back on it in the next few days, let me know if your ever bored after work and feel like wrenchin' ... I've got the coldest beer in Nipomo!

Sounds like a plan Ben, I just got done working nights at Diablo and a few hours every morning at the Refinery. Once I get caught up on my sleep and back to my normal schedule I will be sure to you get ahold of you.

Spent a few hours tonight getting the drivers inner fender welded in. Next will be the passenger side core support braces and inner fender, then the cowl and windshield frame. I want to get this all tied in prior to pulling the rockers and replacing the floor pans.

About time you crack at it. Nice job... Im waiting for fasteners to arrive so I can start setting panel gaps. Im thinking tomorrow is clean the clutter off my benches day and bring the hard top out for its 2 panel replacement... I am almost done with welding.

Got a bit more done today. Welded in the passenger inner fender and upper and lower cowl pieces. Next will be the windshield frame.

The plan for the night was to smooth out the cowl, prime it, then start removing the front floor pans for replacement. I made through the priming part and then changed directions. Put the windshield frame on, then wondered what it would look like with the front fenders on, figured I might as well put the grill on, then hood, and finally decided to throw the doors back on. Gave me a bit of a teaser pic (at least it's teasing me into thinking I may finish it some day!).

That's great! It's a 1939 Chevy 2dr sedan and a 1967 Mustang Coupe under the covers. As for color, right now I am swinging toward some range of silver to gun metal greys. Who knows, I look over my thread since I had started this thing and I have changed directions so many times, I guess I'll just have to wait and see what the mood hits when it's time to paint the thing.

The latest goal is to have it done for Hot August Nights next year. I realize I need to get with the program if that will happen. The added benefit to this goal is that I will be able to use it for hunting season next year!!

Had a good surprise tonight (I consider it good). I was chompin at the bit to get the rockers off to see what was in store, and I don't think they look that bad. I was definitely expecting worse and this should be an easy fix!

Got the floor pans out and not a second too soon! I am very happy to retire the spot weld drill for a while. Hacked most of them out with the plasma cutter to get room to work then proceeded to drill and remove the remnants. Still need to treat the metal with rust mort, prime and start fitting panels. I threw the panels in and it looks like it is going to take quite a bit of fitting to get them cherry. I had the false expectation that the panels would drop in and be ready to weld!! The good news is that this is the end of my rust repair! Everything else is good to go!
