Yukon and Currie are "the" 9 inch folks.

I got great 9" stuff from Nine Inch Nodular on eBay. Some of it was even used.

Easy answer is to buy expensive gears for the 9". Quiet and easier to set up.

You can get away with a noisier or cheaper gear in the front axle since you will likely never hear it at the slow speed we typically 4 wheel eb's at.

And while US Gear is an economy gear. They are fine. I know quite a few who have used them from WH (?) with great results.

Avoid genuine gear (4wp house brand) my diff guy made me return em for another brand. I think I went yukon. He said the genuine were cheap and difficult to get a consistent pattern all the way around. I'm assuming that's why they came out with g2 stuff but don't know if it's any better

i have heard similar as well, some people run them without issues though.
I run Yukon front and rear no problems with gear pattern or the life of them and I beat on them hard. even when my t-case was popping out of rear low real bad, lots of shock loading on them, and when my front locker was getting tore up with more shock loading on the front lol. all still look like new

My Ford 9" Yukon 4.88's set up pretty well IMO...haven't run them yet. Still need to do the HP D44 fronts.

Don't fear the G2 gears, especially for a 9". They are made by a highly sought after and respected manufacturer. If I wasn't so entrenched with Yukon it's what I would run.
