In your photo I see you're using BC's POS bracket. That bracket just holds the pump. The bracket in your hand bolts to the thermostat housing and is used to set the tension on the power steering belt. There is a threaded hole in the lower right corner of the bracket that's bolted to the pump. Put a bolt through the slot on the bracket in your hand and thread it into the threaded hole in the bracket while holding tension on the belt.

It has been several years ago that my ps was added so I could be wrong but I seem to remember that the stock 200 ps bracket was different than the stock 250 as in not interchangeable. 15% seems too high for a loss.
It is a great upgrade though! To go with your new ps I can definitely recommend disc brakes also.

Could be true because the 250 block is taller.

This is the bracket that I used from Broncograveyard on my 170. Looks to be the same one that Borgeson offers.

The Borgeson as well as the OEM 6-cyl Ford brackets have the tensioner integrated into the pump bracket, so there's no need for the second piece like you're holding.

The Borgeson part I used is #802410 which appears to be the same one you posted the picture of. Even my instructions say 200/250 despite me using it on the 170.

ps brackets

170/200 is same block and accessory mounting when using the stock brackets I am almost certain.
4 wheel disc is even better-twice as good! I have thought about that also but so far has not happened.

Ok you guys so I ordered the new bracket that y’all suggested and installed it tonight. Well crap. this is what I am dealing with now. For starters the fan blade is hitting the second pulley that came with the setup and the pulley from the power steering pump will not line up with the extra pulley on the harmonic balancer. What am I missing????

I've never seen that bolt on second groove for the balancer. The OEM Ford dual groove 170/200 was built into the balancer itself. If you go back and look at the various pictures in this thread, that's how they're all set up.

If you compare the below to what you have now, what you're running spaces the pulley out much further. This should align everything. You'll need the correct dual groove water pump pulley as well.

That bolt on pulley you have looks wrong. Looks like it’s got some sort of integrated spacer and also appears smaller than the main balancer pulley. It should look like this.

I bought mine from a falcon website but I think CJ pony parts sells them along with MAC and a few others.

No, it bolts onto the harmonic balancer using the three bolt holes.

Ford made a dual groove pulley as well. I swapped out my bolt on pulley for a dual groove balancer several years ago.

I stand corrected. I've always used the stackable style.

The dual groove is not easy to find. I found mine almost by accident. It was new old stock listed on eBay for a Granada. I think I got it for about $10.

Just to complicate things....lol. I came across this during my search for my own pulleys trying to get everything lined up. As stated earlier Ford did a good job of over complicating things with their vehicle specific pulley packages. It took a few tries but I finally got mine where I like it. Good luck.

Well according to Nick from Northeast classic ford parts he pulled this off of a 66 bronco with a 170 in it and it somehow worked on it! that is why i am confused. Maybe he can shed some light on it today!
