I have been in Bangalore India this week for work, and while being driven around (you don’t want to drive yourself) I kept seeing a Ford that was not familiar and a bit eye catching with the mods. Finally saw one from the rear and it was badged “Endeavour” which is unique in this market. Apparently “Everest” can’t be used here for some reason (Mt Everest is Nepal - not India).

The shape is not what appears under the “sheet”, and may be soccer mom without mods. Comes with a 3.2L disesel.

It does not look like what's under the "sheet" teaser picture. "Eye catching" for sure. The foreign market always has the best looking SUVs.

Yeah, why do they get all the cool looking Fords? ?:?

I agree. Disappointing that we've developed a society where insane EPA, DEQ, USDA, FDA, NSA, NBA rules all require a gazillion tests to minimize insurance risk and attempt to save the world by placing environmental shackles on 1st world countries.

I've always drooled at the 4 door hilux diesels of the world - hoping the American market would support an affordable version. We are not supposed to be driving rigs offroad anyway - you might create some water turbidity that will reduce the oxygen for all the salmon in the rivers thereby minimizing the amount of seals in the ocean, and thereby minimizing the amount of great white sharks and orcas on the other side of the planet.... or that diesel might emit an annoying smell to a person sitting near you at a stop light.

Should we be China- NO. I do appreciate having clean water and air, but the marginal difference between logical rules that provide significant protections and come with acceptable impacts on the economy vs insane rules that provide no meaningful or measurable difference in safety or environmental protections that come at too high of a cost is what drives me nuts.

Sorry for the rant -

I just hope there isn't a law that outlaws all cars after, let's just say, '85. Because all cars before '85 are gas guzzlers and/or heavy polluters. This law would suck, but I am sure that there will also be another law that will state "gross polluter vehicles" can stay in possession of the owner, as long as they pay this high state fee. Watch...California will pass some dumb law like this.

They already have for commercial trucks

If it was built before a certain year
It’s not allowed on the road

It’s a mystery to me

Remember the Focus we got was always a generation behind the European one

When ford designed a new gen for Europe they start selling the previous gen here

Wonder what they’re gonna charge for the new bronco ????

Oh and here’s a load of el strippo diesel crew cab rangers that will never be offered here , being exported to some other country

And I’ve heard that on the new ranger ford designed it on purpose so you have to remove the front wheels and two skid plates to change the oil & filter ????

You gotta be kidding me
That 88 K5 Blazer or 95 Bronco is looking better all the time

Yeap, my buddy has an F450, with a 7.3... He got a nice letter from the DMV saying that for the 2020 year his truck would no longer be allowed to be registered in the state. He had the option of repowering (don't know what that entails) it or selling it out of state. Or moving out of state, which he is considering...

I would definitely move
Cali is on the Socialism death spiral
The govt is fine with people pooping in public on the sidewalk
That’s allowed and encouraged

But your F-450 is against the law and it will be enforced

There is just no way for normal working people to prosper with a commie moron government like that

We've been looking at H3 Hummers for my daughter. If Ford would make something very similar with a 5.0l, I'd be pretty happy with it.

V8
All time 4x4 with 4WL as well
Front and rear locker
Solid rear axle (dana 44)
IFS (acceptable I guess......would rather have solid 44)
4 door only (acceptable I guess.....)
exterior spare tire

I've never really paid attention to the H3, it's actually pretty capable, was kind of surprised. The straight 5cyl both 3.5l and 3.7l had issues it appears though.

the big deal is doing the timing chain when its due, often can be picked up pretty cheap if it wasn't, its less hours to R&R the motor than to do a timing chain. I really like them, was on the list when we bought my wife's FJ, she didn't want to drive the same car as her mom....LOL Ohhh and Watch close you can pick up one with a 5.3

Isn’t that effectively what “Cash for Clunkers” was? Lost a lot of 5.0 explorers in my area to that. Drain oil and pour some kind of glass compound in the dipstick and run the motor till it ceases. We lost a huge parts stream to that government program.

"Cash for Clunkers" was just another way to stimulate the economy in order to get money transactions from both the consumer and the manufacturers. I remember seeing some pretty sweet vehicles being "clunked". I offered to buy a few, but the dealerships wouldn't budge. I was looking at a couple of 60s Mustangs, 80s Full Size Blazers and some cool 60s Econoline Vans. And the list goes on, but those were the ones I was interested.

People seem to forget that the auto manufacturers and dealers want you to buy *new* cars and trucks - not drive around in old vehicles. Sure, the early Bronco raises Ford's profile, and they support that. However they have little interested in seeing grandma's Mercury Monarch still tooling around.

On a side note (of a side note). California has introduced AB210, which will allow '76-'82 to not be smogged anymore. This will give a boost to the aftermarket (in CA anyway) - if it passes.

Not holding my breath... While the car count for that era is small now, it is a source of income for the Bi-annual smogs. A bragging point on how politicians are fighting the smog issue here in CA...

Sorry for the side bar Hi-Jack...

I went to the car show yesterday and asked one of the Ford reps if she had any info on the New Bronco. She replied, "That'll be out in 2020". I asked if they had any pics of the new design. She responded, "Have you seen Rampage? There's a new Bronco in that movie, but the new one is likely to be different" I was surprised they would even mention the 15 year old concept.
