As a promise to post pictures from winning a contributor status, I thought I would start my build thread. I will start with the earliest pictures and add them from day to day. The end result will be a 1966 with a 4bt Cummins diesel.Enjoy

Awesome..... about time, how's that starter working out for you, still waiting on the details.

I'm doing this same conversion.

I am still waiting on the starter. I have learned patience with them. Calling and bugging them doesn't help. I will get it when I get it. I still have some work to do before I actually need it.

Hey Db very nice truck to start with. Let me know if you want to sell any parts you take off for the conversion. I have a 66 U13 project and need parts. Thanks, Mark

I bought a 4bt with all the accessories off E-bay and had it shipped from the east coast. I built a stand to test run the motor.

that's pretty slick! what trans are you gonna run? did you find a source for a starter?

I bought a NV3550 and adapters that I was going to put behind a 302 before I decided to go with the diesel. No reason to let it go to waste so I am going to run it.

I sent my starter and spacer to Mean Green and they are building me a starter to fit in the frame without having to cut the frame.

The NV3550 It is rated at 300 ft./lbs. at 7200 GVW. The engine max torque is 300 ft./lbs. I will find out if it is enough.

I am using a stock cast iron bellhousing.

Nice ride. I am working on a diesel conversion as well. Running an International 2.8L. Mating it to the NV3550 as well. I am running 277 Ft. Lbs stock. Gonna turn it up a little and will probably be right around 300-310 ft. lbs.

I didn't get alot of pics of the rust removal. I ended up replacing the floor pans, rockers, and inner fender rot.

Izzat an early '80s Honda Shadow in that one picture?

It is a Honda Shadow. 1983 750. I put about 2000 miles on it a year.

I'm surprised nobody noticed the micro cars in the background.

Way to put your contributor status to work. I'm digging the Luber with a 4BT. Keep this pics coming, and nice work.

The frame is done. Tom's 2.5 inch lift, D44 disc brake front with an Aussie locker, tie rod and drag link from MoabMike, cage arms, factory 31 spline rear end, and 23 gallon tank.
