Gross Axle Weight Front/Rear

Anyone ever checked the gross axle weight of an average built bronco.... 302, stock axles, cage, winch? With/without top.

Where might one find the use of scales to check?

Truck stops frequently have scales.

They always weigh my pickup when i go to the landfill with crap from work. I'd grab a bag of trash and go if i was so inclined.

I'm not looking for gross vehicle weight, but weight at each axle, more specifically each tire. I guess I could drive half way on the scale, but I'm hoping someone here can save me the hassle.

We have seen rigs weight in from the mid 3,000 upwards of 6,000 Lb.
Depends on your idea of "average"

Getting corner weights is a little harder. But axle weights, hit your local rock yard. They have scales for selling material. Generally in 20 Lb incriments. They usually have big displays so that they can measure the material as the loader puts it into the dump truck. Go there, cross the scale stopping briefly with one axle not on. In a couple seconds you will have weight. Best to at least go in and pick up a price sheet so you actually look like you would be a customer instead of someone just bumming there scales.

If you happen to know a state trooper he might help you out. They pull trucks over and weigh them all the time around here with a portable scale.

I like what dvldav has to say...one scale each wheel OR each axel. Guys have em around here for racing @ the track. They hafta No @ wheel because all they do is go round in circles & wanna load up on the 'jackin bolts in the rear (different amount 4 @ wheel) & 4 the front. In fact they run different air pressure in every single wheel.

It makes a difference on offroad vehicles as well its just not as noticable at lower speeds but it can affect traction to some degree.

That's actually where I'm going with this. A little project I'm working on.

I was really hoping someone out there had access to the portable scales for each tire. I try to stay clear of the state patrol. He'd have me doing the parking brake and backup lights

Must B a track around U (ain't U in the flat lands/piedmont type area). These guys have a lill' digital thing. I've befriended them - not too different than the Bronk crowd. What's your end goal/need?
