Man! Some awesome attention to detail. nice job and keep the pics coming!
Mike

Thanks!

Here is how the doors turned out. I need to add 2 more screw points for the middle of the panel. But they look rad. Speakers barely barely fit. That had me nervous.

Also took both my classics to my local car show. People loved both.

Hey Duffy,
Did you install the Amp Power Steps? I thought I saw that someplace in your thread. Do you like them? I just got mine but still waiting for my truck to get painted.
Thanks!
Mike

I have them and I love them. Makes getting in and out so much better.

Well call me crazy. But on my high end build I hate hate hate my Chinese panel fit and finish. Also we had to use seam sealer where it shouldn’t be and that sealer has cracked:(

So I’m going ford steel on the rear quarters and the front fenders. I picked this 66 body up today and also have nos front fenders and more rear quarters I’m picking up next week. Wish me luck!

From what I understand you initially spliced some cuts outs into your old cut rear quarters? Then replaced that with the aftermarket quarters?

What part of the fit and finish do you dislike? I don't know off hand how it should look versus the replacement panels.

If you were to recommend replacements, would you suggest having an artisan splice cut outs back into cut rear panels?

There are at least two different suppliers of rear lowers, I wonder what the difference is between the two of them.

Yes. This is the 3rd time I have messed with these.

Replacing the panel would be the easiest. I have owned both Dennis carpenters and some other brand. Both suck compared to stock:) If you want it to look factory find some rear quarters that area used. I have found a few.

I now have both front fenders. Both are true NOS. Excited.

I can see in the photo your body lines are off where the quarter meets the taillight housing, and where the quarter meets the rocker. I wouldn't be happy either. Good luck on the new panels!

I wanted black interior door handles, but the ones you can buy are plastic junk. So I had Ryan Williams from http://www.lubr4x4.com/ make me some out of new metal ones. I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out. I don’t know how he powder coats over chrome. But it works.

Hey Duffy, I’m wiring my steps and just wondering how you wired the door switches. I powered them and they went right up. I thought the Red jumped between and the diode went between the switch, purple and red?
Thanks for any input!

Gosh I have no idea! Purple is a ground trigger if I remember correctly. Mine was complicated because I wanted 12v door triggers and dome lights.

I got around 150 test miles on it, I keep fixing little things, but enjoying it a lot! Tinkering with the Usshift software is fun, I found like like soft shifting. Stock shift points are way too firm!

Next on the list is.

New alternator, I got some high amp rebuilt one off ebay. I have a terrible stereo motor whine (changes with rpms) that I can't fix. unplugging the alternator fixes it. It's either the alternator or perhaps the fuel pump. Amp is grounded correctly with high end marine wire and so is the stereo. I am going with a new bosch alternator that's 130amp. Us made and 100% brand new! I love how simple the explorer front dress is to change alternators on!

I hate hate my exhaust loudness. I have the stainless 2-1 BC Broncos system. The hardest part is they used 2.5" primaries that combine to a 3" out muffler system. Which is super rare in the muffler world. So my plan is to combine the 2 primaries with a Y then do a 3" in and out muffler. I picked a flowmaster, I have always liked how they sound on a 5.0 motor. It's rated at mild, so hopefully it's fun sounding but not loud.

https://www.flowmastermufflers.com/...09s-300-center-in-300-offset-out-mild-sound/#

Then I found a new EFI frame mounted fuel pump. Mine is crazy loud, didn't start out that way, but became loud at some point. Hopefully I like it. It gets good reviews.
