Take a look at the tabs on the tank around the opening. I had to lightly hammer each tab to get a tight fit once the lock ring is turned. I also used Vaseline.

I'm looking for a good quality carb rebuild kit for my stock 289. It's been a long time since I had to buy one and with the power valve blown I need a rebuild kit. Anyone know where's a good place to get one? Thanks %)

What year bronco and motor is your Bronco? I have a '68 with external voltage regulator. I had the same problem with a new voltage regulator that was bad out of the box. A new Motorcraft voltage regulator fixed my issue.

I'd be interested if the price was right as well.

My voltage regulator does have a very old little cylinder hanging off of it. I wasn't sure what it was. I'll remove it and check all of the wiring. I made sure the regulator had a good ground before I plugged it in. It doesn't appear to be the regulator since I get the same reading with the...

It's about 12.3 with the engine off. The voltage goes up to 12.8 or so when the engines is reved to 2000. I did replace the voltage regulator too.
