Factory color for underside of tub

What I have seen with my own eyes since starting this thread. 70: tan 71: tan 72: red oxide 74: red oxide 74: red oxide The broncos with tan do not have red oxide under the tan or anywhere. I am betting red oxide was the standard while others got paint. Could have been a red oxide supply issue...

Factory color for underside of tub

That is exactly the Bronco I remember seeing. Doesn’t looked dipped to me%) I have done floor pans in two broncos and neither had red oxide paint inside the floor braces. You would think dipping would have gotten red oxide in those areas.

Factory color for underside of tub

There is only one layer of paint/primer and no red oxide in the flaking area or anywhere

Factory color for underside of tub

I don’t believe thats completely true. I distinctly remember seeing a low mileage bronco on here that was obviously sprayed either by hand or the tub passed over sprayers. There were areas that were completely missed and were bare metal.

Factory color for underside of tub

I am in the middle of an ongoing discussion about the color of the bottom side of the tub. The color I am seeing on a 70 and a 71 do not agree with what is “standard”. The area above transmission/transmission is probably a good place to see the original color. This isn’t the exterior color or...

    Bronco as First Restoration

I started with a running and driving bronco that my dad passed down to me when I was 15. He was not a very hands on person when it came to vehicle repair. But it wasn’t long before I jumped right in and was doing stuff he had no clue about and neither did I. But I was willing to learn. I...

    The Glen Alpine Police Bronco!

I am so out of the loop. I saw the pictures of this bronco on facebook but didn’t realize it had diecast toy version. Thats pretty cool. I have got to look on here more often. BTW, no hubcaps looks way better.;)

What other classic projects are in your garage (pics)

Actually have two 63 fairlanes. One is a sports coupe. One is not. Building the non sports coupe. I have 3 cars worth of parts. Mostly junk. Car is getting 302 out of a 95 cobra that belonged to a buddy. The cobra had been rear ended and totaled.

    200 170 bellhousing

From the casting number I found on the block I should be good to go. Should be the same pattern as my current 170

    200 170 bellhousing

From what I am reading there may be a total of 3 patterns.....

    200 170 bellhousing

I have done a little research and I am confused. So my 1972 bronco with a 170 is down with engine problems. I have access to a free 1965 200 out of mustang. Is the bellhousing pattern the same? All the mustang/falcon pages have me confused.%) So will the 65 200 bolt in place of the 1972 170?

    Atlanta Bronco to the Rescue!

After I got past downtown Birmingham thats exactly what I did for about 15 miles. I could get more traction off the road. The accident that did the most was from me being in a spot where either I had to leave the bronco where it would most likely get hit or try to get around a stuck expedition...

    Atlanta Bronco to the Rescue!

Hurt from the blurry photo or the pain of seeing a damaged Bronco? lol. It was one hell of a day.

    Atlanta Bronco to the Rescue!

My problem was that I too far in to turn back. Had driven the bronco to work everyday for the last month while doing some upgrades on my mustang. So I left as soon as I though that there may be problems. A fender, door skin, door handle, mirror, and little body work to the quarter. Sucks but its...
