3.50 vs 4.11 used with AOD and 31” tires

The AOD has a lower first gear as well as the overdrive. That means the 3.50's would not be hard to get rolling. With 31's you could stay 3:50s or go 4:11's depending on your driving style trade offs. If you were headed to 33's or larger 4:11's will serve you better.

    White Rim Road?

A group of us did it last year. A well built 66 on 35's, a Gen 2 Raptor, a box stock 2017'ish F150, a well built Rubicon, and a stock rental Jeep. The road is not all that tough... I don't think the Bronco or the built Jeep ever put their T-case's in 4WD. The Stock F150 might of had to take a 2nd...

HELP - I just realized my project Bronco is a U13 Roadster Budd Truck

There is nothing you are going to do that hurts the value of that truck. Build it as you see fit with a top and doors and don't give it a second thought. While a Budd body 66 U13 might be one of the lowest production Broncos, that rarity has not translated into a higher market value. If you...

    2 way communication and transceivers

Program FRS/GMRS channels and tones into your HAM gear paying attention to setting low power levels on the FRS channels and be done with it. Some ham operators will tell you thats against the law (It is) but done correctly and operated professionally (Assuming you have a HAM call sign so have...

Could you get dealer option fender flares like this back in `76 ?

Door mirrors look like they are shifted forward as well... Somebody did a LOT of bodywork on this truck. I could have been years ago but agree with the other comments that it looks fresh.

Recommendations for Rear Seat Harness for Kids

Take a look in my garage... Mounted 4 point harnesses and headrests with the factory bench. Works slick for the kids.

To cut, or not to cut...

There is a reason most of Bronco's were cut early in their life... (Spoiler Alert) Fords bodyline didn't work well at all with wider tires most people want to run on a 4WD. Here is fun bit of history with that body line and the 4x4 trucks. http://fordification.info/tech/wrongbed.htm I like...

Please Share Your Marti Report Statistics With The Bronco Community

Question: Have a 1977 Ranger that has been repainted. I have read somewhere that you could delete the Ranger Stripe package if you wanted. Is there anything on the Marti that indicates if this was done. (Want to put mine back to correct as possible)

    More HP from 302??

Looping back around to the original question. Careful old school tuning can deliver good gains on a basically stock 302. Optimized ignition timing is easy to learn and almost free. The same can be said for the carb tune. Get the above two right and enjoy more power and better efficiency...

k bar s just got dropped.

Cant explain it but this truck just has “Something”... Nothing against the $300K trucks out there but they don’t jump out like this thing does. Just

    Replace stock front springs.

Have a fairly stock unlifted 77 with the heavy rear spring option. The front is a bit soft and a bit low. Frame to axle measurements are pretty close to factory height so the OEM springs are not sagged all that much if any at all. Have considered the Moog CC814's a a slightly taller stiffer...

5 Point Seat Belts for Rear Seat?

I added 4 point belts and headrests for the kids. Built a subframe that mounts to the seat for the upper mounts and headrest guides. Pics in my garage P

Stirring the pot on Fuel mileage.

1977 With a stock 2V, 31" tires. 3.54 gears. Last tank was 100% point to point freeway miles. 19MPG @ 70 MPH. The heads and intake have a mild port match, the cam has been timed at 4.5 degrees advanced, the ignition has been carefully re-curved. It wont smoke the tires at 50MPH but is not...

    Door alignment gurus

Three decades ago I worked in a body shop. One of the old journeymen was a master at panel alignment. Whenever he worked on doors he would take the striker completely off the B pillar. His reasoning was that the latch was to keep the door closed not change the doors location. Oddly enough you...

Family Cage tied into Rear quarter panel

In a street vehicle the only thing you need to survive in a roll over is the occupants. The proof load of a Gr2 7/16 bolt is around 5800 lbs. There is no reason to not ask the tailgate pillars to take a share of the impact energy... The added bonus of stiffening the bedsides is hopefully the...
