What have you done to your Bronco today?

Last day of High School tradition, my grandson always gets to drive the bronco to school. He and his best friend took pics with the trucks at the local campground. That's a 71 Blazer along with my 76 Bronco; which my gs hopes to inherit someday.

    C4 leak possible overfill?

Thanks Viper, I just finished watching a few install videos for the gasket, and definitely see how the gasket is supposed to be clean edged along the pan, not squished out. I thought this video here showed a good demo. He did use a small amount of ultra black sealant, though it was a...

    C4 leak possible overfill?

Okay great, thanks for the info. I do have a temp gauge, if you mean an infrared temp gun. I have the stock/original dip stick too.

    C4 leak possible overfill?

Thanks, I will keep that in mind. Maybe take if for a little spin. So when the stick says, "HOT" before checking fluid, how long should I let it idle? Or does it require a bit of driving to get "hot"?

    C4 leak possible overfill?

24 hours after power wash, here is where I see the drips. I'm gonna say the gasket needs replacing. Let me know if you guys think I can still drive the bronco while keeping an eye on the ATF level? I'm going to order the gasket, but it's tradition on the last day of high school since...

    C4 leak possible overfill?

Thanks for the support Steve, yes the fluid was nice and red and the engine was running while I checked it. It was definitely low to begin with as you said. I'm gonna see if any leaks show up overnight.

    C4 leak possible overfill?

So I noticed a small amount of ATF under my bronco a couple of months ago, and went ahead and picked up some fluid from Napa and added it. I think I might have over filled it, but I can't be sure. At the time I don't think I realized I was supposed to be checking the levels with the engine HOT...

    Turn signal switch

Sorry to hear of your electrical issues, wish I could help. Maybe start a new thread on this forum describing in detail what was working, what changed, etc. In my case, after removing the steering wheel, hub and new t/s switch we saw that the green wire (rear passenger blinker) had been...

    Turn signal switch

Thanks for the tip about re-arranging the harness side to match the new t/s switch side. I found out the hard way that I should have kept the pins in the original order that I had installed them, as (understandably) nothing worked after re-wiring following the install guide. After blowing a...

    Turn signal switch

Thanks for the link and the info about the female terminals; will definitely look i to that. Thanks for the tom’s schematic link. Also just curious what the t/s connector to the main harness means. Are you saying putting female connectors to the male connectors? Anyways just want to say...

    Turn signal switch

Hey guys, having trouble with the wiring diagram on my new turn signal switch. The instructions don't say, but I assumed the colored wires are installed left to right into the plastic housing. After getting everything back together, I am getting a fast blink on the right side, and neither...

    Steering wheel hub collar help

Thanks for the info and the link to the new housing. I only saw a manual trans housing, so thought the AT wasn't available; this is perfect. Gonna place my order now. :)

    Steering wheel hub collar help

Thanks Mike. My plan is to sharpie or paint that silver lip for now. Next time I feel up to pulling the wheel, I'll just grind that lip off and drop the collar a bit more.

    Steering wheel hub collar help

Thanks. I have the same hub/collar it looks like, so my problem is the lip. I assumed the collar went over that lip, but now I think these two parts should just mate-up or sit-flush. Do you agree? Anyway, sounds like the hub and collar are exactly as they should be and I just need to paint...
