I had a similar problem with my setup, '74 Dana 44 with 78-79 knuckles. I could never get the old hubs installed correctly, after numerous attempts. I ended buying a set of Warn Premiums, they were easy to install and work great.

Does your core support have the recessed panel for the power steering box? It doesn't look like it from the picture, but its hard to tell. I've read that sometimes a PS box will fit, sometimes you need to cut the core support. Cutting the core support may be an option.

For my setup, the tie rod minus the rod ends is 39.5" The drag link minus the rod ends is 25.5"

Are you using the stock knuckles or the ’78-’79 Bronco/’73-’79 F150 knuckles? I had Extreme Custom Fabrication build my 1 ton setup for the '79 Bronco knuckles, not sure how helpful my measurements would be with stock knuckles.

There are some gear ratio calculators out on the Internets that might help. Depending on your particular 5 speed, 4.56 gears might be a good option.

My '72 came from the factory with a 302 and only one gas tank. Check the drivers side door jamb for a tag that has the VIN. If you have that tag, the VIN should match the glove box VIN, which should also match the VIN on the frame. The VIN on the frame can difficult to see/find if it is...

Looks good! Are you using the WH Explorer bracket to mount the Saginaw PS pump?

Could be Chrome Yellow (paint code G). My 72 is Prairie Yellow (paint code K) which seems a little darker
