Trying to get ahold of Bronco Designs to order a full body. Anyone work them recently know what their lead time is?

    This place used to be...

I used to lurk everyday and occasionally post. Then came marriage and kids and there went the expendable cash and time. My frame-up project stalled and my daily driver’s motor blew up. I managed to drop in a donor motor from a 60s mustang but have yet to get it running. Good news is my neighbor...

    Help finding a starter

I'm Frankensteining an engine together. What I have is a 68 Bronco with a 200 cid. The engine obviously isn't original and it is dead. I'm reusing everything from the bell-housing back. I'm running into a problem though. I can not find a starter to fit. The starter I order from the parts...

    Welding instruction in the STL?

I'll try out those Extreme Offroad episodes. I'm also going to invest in the dryer outlet + extension cord idea. I need to weld a power steering bracket to the frame and I'm trying to decide if I should practice, practice, practice and then give it a go or just hire it out.

    Welding instruction in the STL?

Anyone in the St. Louis area know a thing or two about welding and willing to pass it along? Working on my Broncos I find there's a lot more I don't know than what I do. I have little experience working on cars and when I find myself in over my head I run to Steve at AWS and open my pocket book...

TRO and tapered knuckle bushing recommenation?

Ack! Another option. ;D More to think about and it seems so simple.

TRO and tapered knuckle bushing recommenation?

Why would the BC Bronco design be more solid? I’ve read a few archived posts speaking to the hour glass shape of the hole after reaming and inserting the bushing. I imagine that hour glass shape would be non-existent with the Ruff Stuff bushing. I have a reamer already so that’s not a big deal...

TRO and tapered knuckle bushing recommenation?

Trying to figure out what bushings to order for my TRO. Here's the two that I'm looking at. https://bcbroncos.com/shop/steering/steering-linkage/47-00270-tie-rod-over-bushing-for-early-bronco/ and https://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/catalog/INSSTEER-2PK.html Any recommendations out there...

New Bronco - press conf from Ford

Just saw the Wildhorses youtube video. That photo was IDed as a test mule and not the actual body of a Bronco. Thank the maker!

Let's see your Bronco when you bought it vs now

Yes, I work real slow. It sat stored in a garage for 10 years. Started work in 2015. Been an on again off again project.

Tie rod heim joint stud question

Just spoke to BC Broncos and to go TRO it does require a taper bushing. Reaming from the top to match the size of the stud would create an hour glass shape in the knuckle and the post could wobble. Therefore you have to make an over sized hole to eliminate the taper from the bottom. Then use the...

Tie rod heim joint stud question

You are correct on all accounts. 71 Drum with Chevy Disc conversion. I agree with your TRO assessment and figure if I'm going to have to ream with a taper I might as well go that direction. Would I need a taper bushing if I go the TRO route?

Tie rod heim joint stud question

I agree. I know you need to reem the knuckle if converting to TRO, but this little penetration with TRU is throwing me off.

Tie rod heim joint stud question

I have a three way adjustable tie rod with heim joints. How far does the heim joint stud need to fit into the knuckle? Here’s where I’m at.

    I believe t shirt

Out in public people initially think I’ve found religion when they see the “I believe” then they see the Bronco and either laugh or say oh.
