Here are some pictures of a finished airbox from a couple of years ago. The one with the door installed is the reproduction and it is next to an original one. Construction is of the same thickness metal and basically have you clamp it in place drill your holes for the screws or use self tapping...

This is not for the engine, but the fresh air intake for the passenger compartment on the driver side. I’ll try to post a picture of the next few days I’m currently working this weekend.

Also make sure you measure opening dimensions.
