Factory color for underside of tub

I am in the middle of an ongoing discussion about the color of the bottom side of the tub. The color I am seeing on a 70 and a 71 do not agree with what is “standard”. The area above transmission/transmission is probably a good place to see the original color. This isn’t the exterior color or...

    200 170 bellhousing

I have done a little research and I am confused. So my 1972 bronco with a 170 is down with engine problems. I have access to a free 1965 200 out of mustang. Is the bellhousing pattern the same? All the mustang/falcon pages have me confused.%) So will the 65 200 bolt in place of the 1972 170?

Post some info on your cage

I was searching around looking at some different cages that people have built and now I am wondering how much tube you guys are using. I know this depends on the cage design. Could I get some pics of some different styles of cages and about how many feet of tube you used. I would like to build a...

    Learning to TIG weld

I am taking a Fabricating class and we are getting the chance to tig weld. I would compare MIG welding to an automatic transmission and TIG to a Manual transmission since you use 3 out of 4 of your Limbs. Its a whole new ballgame. We have worked on Aluminum only so far. This is with about 2.5-3...

    Stock rear axle measurements

What is the width of the stock rear axle. I found 58" Wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface searching around. Is that correct? Does anyone know how far off center the center line of the pinion is? Does anyone know the axle shaft lengths off hand for a small bearing?

A random question about Ford pistons.

Why in the world did Ford use different size pistons from the factory? In my Chilton's Ford Engine Overhaul Manual it lists four different size pistons for the 289/302. It lists them for other engines too, but for the sake of discussion lets focus on just the 289/302 Code Red 3.9984-3.9990in...
