Was able to replicate the rubber bumper for now to see if it changed anything. Have it adjust a little higher than the brake pedal and have about 1" or so of free play. Still sticky chattering feeling. Feels like throw out bearing is hanging up through its travel. Busy the next few days...
Had a local shop install a new clutch and flywheel and for me a few weeks ago. 71 with 302 and stock 3 speed with duffys floor shifter. It was just a luk replacement diaphragm clutch.
My clutch linkage is all good, adjusted properly and everything seems to work as it should. I am...
I have a drop pitman arm and track bar bracket sitting around somewhere I never stuck on. If I have time this weekend maybe I will throw them on. They are pretty damn close to as parallel as could be but they are at a fairly steep angle. Running a new Wild Horses 2 1/2" kit and dont seem...
Honestly not really. After I replaced the stabilizer it basically just seems to mask the issue. I also found out I was missing the bushing and spring behind the steering wheel in my column. That seemed to help as well as the column was binding. I checked all linkage again (all brand new)...
Just an update. That was indeed the issue. New 50oz flywheel and clutch installed. No more vibration. Was able to button up some leaks while it was apart as well. Couldnt be happier.
Thinking it has to be in the new box as I didn't have it with the previous box. Only issue with the previous box is the steering was tight from previous owner cranking in sector shaft to hide play.
Linkage is all new and column spun fine when the shaft was unhooked from box. U joint in...
Pretty stumped on this. Maybe the new ps pump is going out. Odd that the problem only started after replacing steering box though.
Tried every method of bleeding and no change. With tires off the ground everything works as should. As soon as weight is back on it it acts as described...
Bought a new lares 4 turn power steering box from summit. The old one was a 76 unit on my 71. Only reason for replacing was the previous owner had the adjustment screw cranked in to get rid of play. With the rest of my steering being new I figured I would replace.
I copied this from a...
Fuel gauge started reading pegged full no matter what level it's at. It happened after filling up from basically empty. Filled it at the gas station and drove 3 miles home and checked resistance at the sender and was getting 6.7 ohms. If I unplug the ground wire it makes no change at...
Would make more sense with it being newer than 1980 as there is an oil level sensor plugged off in the side of the pan. I will check for the actual date code. When was the switch from 2 to 1 PC main seal
Couldn't see anything crankwise. Flywheel is definitely a 28oz after pulling starter to see. So balancer is a 50 and flywheel is a 28. Wandering which one is correct? I have a hard time believing that isnt the original balancer but would a E4TE balancer be on a e0ae motor?
Well balancer looks in good shape. Has E4TE stamped on the rim with the timing marks so im assuming an 84 which would be 50oz. It definitely feels like a balance issue.
Wonder if I could pull a drain bolt and stick a bore scope In the oil pan to see the crank and check for markings...
