When I looked into Dennis Carpenter bodies 2 years ago it was a 3 year wait. Decided to restore my existing body- not sure if that was the best idea but it’s done now. It’s not like the body shows up and can go straight to paint, but the quality looked great.

As always-thanks for the insight. Where do people move the proportional value to escape the heat? Or what’s a good quality heat shield? Trying to keep it clean looking.

Got a related question. I have a new Tom’s portioning valve setup in my 77 we are redoing. It’s awful close to the header. Will the heat of the header affect it? Do I need to heat shield the valve? Sorry I don’t have pic

30 years ago July I got married in my 77. Finishing up a 3 year total resto with hopes of driving it on our 30th anniversary. Gonna be close!
