    AWD Explorer to D20

If you intend to rebuild the 4r70w transmission, you can purchase an AA adaptor kit with new main shaft, and comes with housing adaptor that bolts directly to D20. Or if you leave transmission as is, you can use zf adaptor and cut the existing shaft end on the transmission.

Rear End and Changing Differential Cover

Anyone concerned the axle flange is missing two bolts in that caliper bracket? Is that normal for aftermarket disk conversion kits? Axle retainer plate only held with two screws?

    Cleaned out the chimney(frame) today

Yeah I used a dryer vent cleaning rod and brush, works similarly, bought a steel chimney brush first, but it was like 6 or 7 inches and the metal didn't flex enough to fit. Worked really well along with running water through it to push the dirt out

    4r70w adapter ring and tuning

There are two AA kits - I believe one uses the ZF adaptor ring and you can use the existing main shaft in the transmission (may require cutting/shortening) and another that includes a new main shaft and extension housing that does not require the zf ring. I used this one as I had the 4r70w...

    steering box seal surface repair?

Speedisleeves like you mentioned in #2 is best solution i've heard of before for similar applications. I've had some success with #1 by using spacers/shims on yokes and output shafts to get to a fresh shaft area.

4r70w with advance adaptor end play

I just got done installing this and buttoned up the the inside and pump on 4r70w using transmission bench videos and my TCI shift kit install instructions. Still need to finish valve body work. Not sure what my end play was in stock setup, but I have very little now if any and definitely...

    Building vs buying axles

All depends if you have the know how to DIY, have the additional tools you'll need, and more importantly, the TIME. I'm getting the third member complete to avoid the gear setup, etc. but doing the rest myself. Not sure about the Dana 44 yet...might send that off to someone local to save on time.
