    check for intake to head leaks. Also check your timing. Also, check your ignition system, I have had issues like this with weak spark.

    Try and run the two little screws on the side of the carb out 1/4 to a 1/2 turn while the engine is doing the surging and see if that helps. The longers cranking sounds like float level or you are boiling gas in the carb

    Yeah, sorry about that, I got a flood of interest about the box. No worries on the payment. as far as mods, I think it is a bolt in, you would have to find a set of duel groove pullies of course.

    I can cut shipping costs a lot if you buy the pump locally. I like to use flat rate boxes and two should fit it all (the pump may not fit is why I ask) so about 35 bucks

    My guess is the pro leaned it out too much, advanced the timing a touch too much... and with a little pinging you now have bad rings... it would take about a week to do the damage :-[

    Check your timing, make sure you are at least 8 degrees before top dead center. Also make sure that you are not idled up too high, that can cause a bog with a holly I have found. If you are idled above the transition slots in your holly, it can cause a lean condition right off 'idle' If your...

    Make SURE you kept the grounding strap from the breaker plate to the lower, non moving plate. If you don't have this, the points or in your case the unit you are using will not work.
