I found a very good and very inexpensive fix for the window channel felt. Nothing I could do would make the Moore Parts product work so I got creative.\
Amazon - 1/2 by 60" felt strips. Zonan Brand Polyester - $7.99.
They have a sticky back but I assumed it isn't waterproof so my fix went...
I posted earlier about finding just replacement felt for the window tracks which are in good shape. I ordered some from Amazon with the parts coming from Moore Parts. The published measurements would have worked but on receipt, there is virtually no gap in the "felt" which is quite firm. It...
Thanks for your help guys. I ordered some window channel felt through Amazon from Moore Parts. It will be here tomorrow. If it works I will post a link.
I have read a lot of the posts regarding changing the window channels and anti rattle felt and understand those kit or replacement piece options.
I am wondering if anyone has ever just replaced the felt. The tracks on my truck are all good but the felt has deteriorated and so far I have been...
Wow! Thank you for the background and the answer to the top color. With all the info, if the Ditzler chip says the bottom color (code R) is
Sequoia, will my local automotive paint store be able to use that Sequoia name to determine the formula?
According to the build placard my truck is Color Code R. As I look at Ditzler and other color palettes, I can find the Sequoia (R) for main body color but can't determine what the "parchment or creamy" color is on the top.
I was able to order new ones today from CJ Pony Parts and after looking at some old posts of guys who did or tried to rebuild, I opted for new. Thank you for mentioning the kit though.
My old hinges have over an 1/8 inch of play in the span of the hinge. Don't think I am going to try used hinges...will wait till someone has them in stock.
Thank you for your responses and help.
I am going to remove the hinges today and look at them to see if the play is in the hinge pin or in the bolt area. I shall get back to you.
Do you have a price in mind and will it be a pain to UPS them to me if I take them?
Do you know if they are supposed to have some play? I think that is the problem with mine as I can lift the door probably more than 1/2". I have adjusted to the max where they bolt on the pillar but the door still sags a lot.
